    Default Insurance costs

I have been getting a few insurance quotes for my new Carbon Cub that I pick up in mid-February. The quotes are in the range between $3800 -$4800. I have my tail wheel endorsement, but only about 10 hours of tail wheel time. Overall time is 650 hours with an instrument rating.

Has anyone been getting better insurance prices? If so, what company/agency are you using?

I use Airpower insurance. http://www.airpowerinsurance.com/ Thomas Johnson is a prince and he found me a pretty good deal ($2600 or so). I have around 100 hours in taildraggers, so that may be something that helped...but Tom can make good things happen.

I used to use EAA with my Sport Cub but am now with AOPA. They cover LSAs. Avemco does not cover LSAs any more.

Try Teri Branstitre at Northwest Insurance Group 503-640-6060. They insure CubCrafters and a number of CubCrafters dealers and Carbon Cub owners, so they understand light sport in general and CubCrafters products in particular. Outstanding service.

Jack, I have almost identical hours 700 TT, instrument, 11 Tailwheel. $ 2250 for nearly the same bird, if my memory serves me correctly. Mike Pratt, Maverick Insurance, 502-905-8747. I get no cut but tell him who sent you.
